A well-planned road trip is ripe for memory-making. One of my rules is if I have the time, take a few side roads / get off the highway

Yes! Leaving yourself time to explore is the best way to get the most out of a road trip.

Great reminder to fight the urge to "make good time" and actually see something!

Our family of four often is eating picnic lunch out of our cooler on road trips. Since we're in a minivan, we bring our camp chairs and roll top table so we can chase the shade. Even if that means just under the back hatch!

That’s a smart way to do it!

Love the tips, that is how we travel. Even better, haul a small RV behind you and learn how and where to dry camp for free. No hotels, no lugging bags and your own restroom whenever you need one.

The Tamarack is one of my favorite road trip spots! I LOVE all the local artisan wares – there is so much regional talent.

With the recent establishment of the New River Gorge National Park, I hope more people will be open to visiting the region and learn that West Virginia is a beautiful and culturally unique area.

Absolutely! We’ll be sharing some more West Virginia favorites soon!

Gamay Noir has become our go-to up here in TC. Nice call on that Mari version.
