HUDSON, N.Y. — New York City residents are likely well aware of the charms of the Hudson Valley, where great restaurants, farms, antique shops, and a slower pace of life await on the other side of a two-and-a-half hour drive or train ride from Grand Central Station. But for everyone not from New York, it’s time to get acquainted with the area’s terrific dining scene. While the area, located within a few hours’ drive of many East Coast cities, is better known for its summer and fall seasons, we found that winter was a lovely time to go — many of the places we visited were dark and cozy, and there were few crowds to contend with.
