NAPA, CALIF. — There’s never really a bad time to visit California, but there are some particularly good times to go. For much of the country, January through March is, if not cold and snowy, generally gray, and even though we’re only barely past the holiday travel season, it probably already feels like it’s time to plan your winter escape. May we suggest Napa Valley? The weather will be a perfectly pleasant mid-50s and the mustard flowers will bloom a gorgeous vibrant yellow. Not to mention, winter is a slower season in Napa, which means you can spend quiet, leisurely afternoons tasting through wines and eating exceedingly well between winery stops.
